Common Civic Sense by all

While driving do you stop for a pedestrian to cross? If traffic lights are not working do you wait for person crossroad? Do you pick up trash to throw in nearest trashcan? Have you transferred your voter rights just you transferred you provident fund when you change location?

I am not here to talk and realize you that 50% people in India is below poverty line nor that we have greatest of mindpwer in world, since people are aware of these facts and many are be contributing to improve the figures. I am here to just make you think your contribution to build a decent society by realizing some general civic duties. You might not be paying 5% of your annual income to some trusted organization for orphans or homeless, which is absolutely perfect, but do you show courtesy to let that homeless person cross street first when you are driving your air conditioner vehicle?

This idea applies to all starting from the auto-rickshaw drivers to the CEOs of the big organization. Not asking for any government nor any NGOs support for this, but it is the civic duty of each citizen to adhere to some basic rules himself. The implementation of the duty should not wait for a Top-Down approach starting from a minister to not block road for 2 hrs since he is moving places, it should be a Bottom-Up approach starting from a Hydrabadi or Delhi software engineer to be in line while boarding the metro or a auto-rickshaw driver to drive in the left lane since he cannot drive at 50+kmph. Important is the literate section of the society should take the first step to make this as a part of their daily life.

Looking at the exponential industrial growth rate of the cities like Delhi, NCR regions, Hyderabad the general facilities like housing, bridges, public toilets, transportation will take some time to be part of common man’s life, but is the common man doing justice to the ones which are already available with him? Seen people having an urge to drive through a signal seeming they have to wait for a life to cross it, does not show it.

Knowing any government can implement these by imposing some laws but with the flexible system the rules like these can be twisted easily since the authorities have much more important things to concentrate and implement(really meant it). The success of India definitely depends on the GDP, the business we make in the world market, increasing the literacy rate, controlling the population, reducing the pollution and looking at the effort made by different governments, all is quite commendable.

The recent initiatives taken by media and government to control corruption are not to be forgotten. The question here to ask is what as a common man have we done to prevent it not to happen again. Have we stopped bribing the ticket collector in train to get a seat or a policeman for outside state registration of your vehicle or have we got it registered as we changed our work place.

The difficult part is to spread this idea to all, and one of the easy ways to do it to educate each at their professional level. Staring from auto-rickshaw drivers - hoping they have a union in each area of each city, the head of the union will be helpful in spreading this idea to his subordinates. All the industries - big or small, should take initiates to spread the need to implement the common civic sense through the soft skill training programs.

As a single brain I may not be able to list down all the things, which will help us in living a smooth day today life. The most important part is not getting de-motivated if someone is not doing them, the question we should ask is - Am I doing it? As when we all ask this to ourselves, we all as an individual will do it someday or the other.

10 + 2 System

Less time playing ,
few minutes for eating
Thinking of just studying
oh , this system of 10+2

The years and years of mugging
No night for sleeping
Few hours for singing

No dates for dating
For Boards we are preparing
Everybody is encouraging

The days of schooling
The ages of graduating
Making life boring
End this system of 10+2

Teamed up with Krishna

the field was set and the lights were on
the players were fit , the stairs all full
there was the team the champs of the champions
then came I with full tension on
the players need to be 11 and one yet to be driven
the game will start but the team has to retard

Then came HE from dust and sand
the shoes were tight and the dress was just right
As we got the man , not by choice but by chance

The whistle was blown ,
with eyes on the new one I made the pass on
he moved like a twister ,
ball all magnetized to his feet ; he cleared the enemy's fleet.
The globe reached its destination
got some in frustration
He was lifted high and the height was not measurable
I just felt the height but could not reach his sight.
Time passed , the goals were scored.
End was near and defeat was all far

I hugged all but could not find one.
